Physics

   The Department of Physics, established in 2006, is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and innovation. The department offers B.Sc. and M.Sc. Physics programes under NEP 2020 and is a recognized Research Centre of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. It is equipped with a well-maintained laboratory, modern experimental instruments, and a dedicated dark room for spectroscopy experiments. Faculty members actively contribute to research, publications, curriculum development, and patent filing. Through ICT-enabled teaching, guest lectures, educational visits, quizzes, and environmental awareness programes, the department nurtures scientific temperament, research aptitude, and prepares students for higher education and successful careers.

  • National Science Day Celebrations, including Science Quiz, Wall Painting, Seminars, and Science Model Exhibition.
  • Active participation  in Vidarbha University Physics Teachers’ Association (VUPTA) Inter-University Student Seminars and other institutional activities.

Study Tours Arranged

  • Industrial Visit to Microplast Polymer Pvt. Ltd., Jam, Wardha (23 March 2024) to understand industrial manufacturing processes and applications of materials science.
  • Educational Visit to Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Samudrapur (19 August 2025) to provide students with practical exposure to technical education, laboratory practices, and modern industrial equipment.

Research in the Department

  • Recognized Research Centre of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), Nagpur.
  • Four Ph.D. research scholars are currently pursuing doctoral research under the guidance of departmental faculty.
  • Active research in Nanomaterials, Spinel Ferrites, Magnetic Materials, Microwave Absorbing Materials, Luminescent Materials, Dielectric Materials, and Environmental Applications.
  • Faculty members have published 50+ research papers in SCI, Scopus, UGC-CARE, and peer-reviewed international journals.
  • Indian Patent publications in the areas of nanotechnology, ferrite materials, and advanced functional materials.
  • Publication of textbooks, book chapters, and review articles for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Faculty members regularly present research papers at National and International Conferences, Workshops, and Seminars.
  • Research collaborations with premier laboratories and institutions for advanced characterization using XRD, SEM, TEM, VSM, FTIR, UV–Visible Spectroscopy, Electron Microscopy, and Microwave Measurements.
