About Our Department

The department of Botany was established in July 2006. We have three permanent faculties Dr. Nayana S. Shirbhate, Dr.V. G. Manwatkar and Dr. S. D. Yeotkar, two lab attendants Shri. S. B. Bodkhe and Shri B. L. Kadu. In our department 50 instruments costing Rs. 642238 up to 31/4/2021. Our lab is fulfilled with chemicals, glassware, materials, permanent slides, charts etc. of cost Rs. 1, 52,945. In college library has 403 books of Botany costing Rs.2, 08064 up to 31/04/2021 and also form a sectional library of Botany. Sectional library has total 82 different books and journals. These books are handed over to students for regular use. The department has organized field study tour for the all B.Sc. students, for systematic introduction of plants & biodiversity, collection of material, vegetation study and other studies. Student are motivated and benefited by the field visit to improve the knowledge about taxonomy, medicinal plant & flora and fauna of local area. Modern teaching methods practiced and use of ICT in teaching – learning i.e. R. B. P. T., LCD Projector, Computer, Scanner, Internet facilities, etc available in department.

Our Features

The teachers of the department interact with the students in the laboratory personally at the time of practical. During this interaction students can talk freely with the teachers. Teaching faculty can solve personal difficulties of the students & also give personal financial assistance to needy students. The faculty also does academic as well as personal counseling in selecting the proper carrier in future. Participation in Co- Curricular activities: Celebrate International Literacy Day, Essay and poster competition on different themes, Celebrate Savitribai Fule Jayanti, Rongoli competition, Flower show, Science Day celebration, etc. We regularly conduct different social activities to develop social vision of our students like cloth bank, plantation, etc.
